Tuition
1. Monthly tuition is due at the first lesson of the month. Tuition is calculated as the sum of the fees acrued for lessons scheduled in that month.
2. Prompt payment is appreciated.
3. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer refunds for missed lessons. However, a makeup lesson may be scheduled if notice of absence (due to illness, emergency, severe weather, etc.) is given in advance. Due to scheduling concerns, two cancellations/reschedules per semester will be honored. If a cancellation is requested by the instructor, you are entitled to recieve a make-up lesson or refund.

Repertoire, Materials, and Practice Expectations
1. Each student is responsible for purchasing his own piano and theory books. On average, students will be using 2 - 3 books each, depending upon their level. This includes technique, lesson books, theory books, etc. These materials are to be brought to every lesson.
2. Practicing: There is a direct correlation between the amount of time a student sets aside for practice each week and the technical and artistic progress of the student. As a result, I ask that students set aside an adequate amount of practice time, five days a week, to be determined by the instructor during the student's lesson.
3. Every student needs to purchase a digital voice-recorder and bring it to every lesson. Pieces will be recorded every week. The student may also be asked to record their piece at the end of the week to demonstrate progress for the instructor. Analog recorders, smartphones, cell-phones or music players will not be accepted as recording media.
4. Every student needs to own a metronome capable of subdivision. An example of a recommended model would be the Korg MA-30.

Recitals
1. An annual recital will be scheduled each spring semester.
2. Students and their families are strongly encouraged to attend at least one major piano concert per semester (given by other teachers/ pianists/guest artists in the community). Students will be alerted during their lesson if any significant music events are taking place, so that they may plan to attend those if they choose.
